Fresh from offering the world Good Food, ScienZe is crafting a Kind of Dessert EP. The first single from the project is “Water to Wine,” a collaboration with L.A’s Blu. The frequent partners-in-rhyme have displayed a strong chemistry in their past work, including 2013’s “Charlie Brown” and “Happiness Is” tracks.
“Water to Wine” is no different, with the two trading rhymes over a mellow Black Spade production. Hailey Niswanger’s saxophone comes in midway through the track, taking the already soulful composition to the next level. Blu and ScienZe augment the beat with a melodic, stop and start flow for the duration of the track. ScienZe kicks the track off by reminiscing on finding his calling as an MC as a youngster, and reflecting on turning 30. Blu, the MC from “Southern Cal with the drawl,” follows up with a boastful verse where he proclaims himself the “father with the flow.”
Kind of Dessert doesn’t yet have a release date, but hopefully every morsel is as good as “Water to Wine.” You can listen to the track below.
