As if this week's news wasn't bad enough, now comes word that hip hop and EDM producer AraabMUZIK was shot yesterday during an attmpted robbery.
After rapper Avatar Darko tweeted asking for prayers, saying that AraabMuzik, born Abraham Orellana, “just got shot be he'll be alright! He's strong!… They tried to rob him and he ain't come up off his shit so they tried get him outta there! He meant to be here! Foh!”, Billboard confirmed the shooting through a statement released by AraabMUZIK's camp.
“Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well,” Oreliana's rep said in the statement. “He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can.”
DukeDaGod, the musician's manager, posted the above photo on Instagram of Orellana in a hospital bed, adding, “Everyone wish my brother @araabmuzik a healthy & pleasant recovery!!!! #Mvpofthempc #Soblessed.”
Thankfully, SPIN is reporting that AraabMUZIK is not only ok, but responsive, and wants to thank “my Family, Friends, especially my Fans for the blessings n prayers for my speedy recovery.”
