Formed in 2008 while still in high school, Les Rhinocéros have become one of D.C.'s hallmark experimental bands. Their mixture of groove based jazz and ambient undertones vibrantly resonated on their highly praised self-titled debut, which was released this past May. The precocious trio have since started a Kickstarter campaign to finance a three-week winter tour of Europe.
Asking for only a one-dollar minimum pledge, they have already raised 890 dollars and have fifty-seven days to make their goal of 4,000. With perks ranging from limited silk-screened t-shirts ($35 pledge) to accompanying them on their European tour ($8,000) this could be the best tax write off of 2011.
