What to read (right now)

There's a lot of book/literature talk going on in this space, not much of the actual literature. I've decided to change that (no, not taking submissions) but instead to link to a few stories/poems every week, instead of doing the usual posturing that I perform in this space.

Here's some stuff I've enjoyed over the past few days that has been published recently:

“Staring Into The Eyes of An Animal” by Rachel B. Glaser @ NOO Journal.

the cows are not careful or concise
a cow can stare a hole into anything

“Taking Flight” by Ben Tanzer @ Metazen.

… Once you’re done reading you hit delete and the feelings pass, nothing, like magic, or a bird taking a flight …

“Revolution Come and Gone” by Tobias Carroll @ Vol. 1 Brooklyn.

Timon thought of the fraying then, of the days as a child when he’d
first been in adult spaces, spaces that had not seen anyone of his age
in decades. His parents would be in another room, discussing arcane
subjects with the building’s occupants or caretakers.

(So, I'm not taking submissions, but if you'd like to hit me up w/ a story that has been published elsewhere, lemme know: josh at imposemagazine.com)
