Remember that 4AD band out of Baltimore that had a fairly hyped record produced by Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio? It had something to do with music community and featured friends of the band that were in other rad bands like Antibalas and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. So that band is no longer on 4AD and its new record is inspired by gypsies.
Celebration's redemption album, Hello Paradise, is a part of its Electric Tarot project, in which each song represents a different card in the tarot deck. It's good to know that in those three years the group was able to conceive a lofty concept to build intrigue around its return. Of the songs released for free download thus far, we're high on “Open Your Heart”. With each listen we're itching to put on our poodle skirts and wait on the stoop for captain of the football team to come by in his Camero to take us to the ice cream social.
But chances are once we get to the social, we'll ditch Captain Perfect for the hippy in the corner with a blotter bottle of sunshine and twitch around the party to “What's This Magical”.
Celebration's Hello Paradise vinyl LP will be out this winter on Friends Records, but continue to follow the website as each song will be released digitally in the coming months.
