Porcelain Raft, “Distant Shore”

Post Author:

Italian-born/Los Angeles-based recording artist Mauro Remiddi, the sole entity behind Porcelain Raft, has finally released his first single from upcoming third LP. Starting out as an artist pitched as last-gasp chillwave blended with bedroom indie, “Distant Shore” is upfront, bold, and assured. The synths sweep across the mix in gorgeous gestures as Remeddi’s vocals reach out for pop stratospheres never attempted on previous releases. There is a message of escape in the lyrics, but to a better place inside himself: “Look around/ It’s rising like the morning sun/ No one sees me now/ Transmitting from my head to yours”. By going inward to a safe place, Remiddi can reach out in ways he only hinted at before.

Porcelain Raft’s album Microclimate will be released February 3 on Volcanic Field Records.
