Spirit City, “Do What You Want”

Provo, Utah’s indie pop collective Spirit City – comprised of Nate Young, Austin Young, Cori Place, Braden Dye, and Perry Burton – is imploring you to “Do What You Want” in their new single. It begins slowly, like a church song, but then the beat and vocals set in and it’s obvious that this could be the pop song we’ve been looking for. Discussing change, it’s perhaps the best track to enjoy while the seasons transition. Lyrics like “I’ve grown tired of the same old same” and “we can’t wait forever, but I feel like I already have” bring a sentiment to the song that we can all relate to on some level or another. When you feel like you’re in a rut, it’s time to “make [your] own way” and just “Do What You Want”.
