The Green Flamingos

Genève, Switzerland’s sophisti-psych set The Green Flamingos arrive today with exclusive insights regarding their anticipated debut album The Southern Oracle available November 24 from Le Pop Club Records that follows up the anticipation left in the wake of their 2015 EP debut. Yoanna Claquin, Tommaso Soave, Julien Garric, Thomas Abbet & Mathieu Evequoz borrow from the modernist pop quilted-catalogs to create a sound that could have descended from any corner of the universe with an invigorated dance-ready ethic certain to stir any & all with ears to hear.
The Green Flamingos deliver the result of their recordings from the mythic Back to Mono Records studio, where The Southern Oracle emerges with the electric & mythic message of “The Silver Voice on Doomsday Drums” that gets the mythic party started. Brash blues about life’s frenetic frenzies & fancies breaks into the fold on the helium ascending “Up and Away” that arrives at the head rush feeling single “The Rush Kicks In”, that sends the listener through the intrepid fun house on the cautionary call of “Beware”. Visions of the past’s fallen empires arise once again on the goth-styled “Rome is Burning”, taken the oddities & anomalies of atonement into the outer sphere on “The Last Sinner”, right before entertaining the specter in the machine on the moody “Detonate”. And with all the 60s & psych tags that can be applied, there is also a grandiose sense of presence that the Yoanna & the group brings throughout the tape on “End of Summer”, to the urgent emergency run “To The Rescue”, before arriving on the eponymous album track where odysseys & oracles together are felt & heard in collaborative harmony. Behold now The Green Flamingos’ visuals for the single “The Rush Kicks In”:

The Green Flamingos also offered us the following exclusive reflections regarding their anticipated debut full-length album:

After a first EP released in February 2015 under Le Pop Club Records banner, we are back with a new line up, ready to release…our first LP.
A modern retro direction, keyboards from outer-space and love for vintage sound brand this galactic, stereophonic and groovy album. Influenced by sixties soul music and psychedelic pop, Southern Oracle explores moonage day dreams and cosmic visions.
Recorded at Back to Mono Records, the temple of retro studio recording, it will be available on November 24.
