Cautious Clay
Brooklyn based artist Cautious Clay shared some thoughts on the new single “Stolen Moments” with insights into the new Blood Type EP. The feelings from moments shared & treasured are recalled through beautifully rhythmic sparse chords that are a hallmark of the CC-style. Choir-like overdub harmonies stir up the atmosphere on songs like “Silos”, indulging in desert paradise dreams on “Joshua Tree”, inspiring the audience to raise up their hands toward the skies in ecstasy on the title track. Intimate narratives of intricate exchanges comprise “Juliet & Caesar”, bringing elements of tension & cautioned contemplations on the clashes & conflicts of “Cold War” that concludes the tales of love & war on the expansive “Elsewhere” that opens the cosmic doors to the entrance of what Cautious Clay has in store next for the world.
Cautious Clay took a few moments to talk to us in the following interview session:
Describe what you discovered about the world, yourself & your art this past winter.
I have discovered a stronger focus and world view for what I create and the type of people I have in my life.
What has you motivated for this spring?
To go on tour and shoot cool music videos for some of my new songs and upcoming project.
Tell us about the feelings, thoughts & experiences that informed the intimate nature of Blood Type.
The thoughts & lyrics were really born out of my take on relationships, life goals, lust, and identity; all of which relate to each other in my own experiences. Blood Type is basically an introduction into my perspective and thoughts on these things.
Other artists & activists that have caught your heart & ears lately?
Bobby Womack, SOB X RBE & 1010 Benja SL.
Focuses on creating a more beautiful world for the future?
Continuing to create on my terms and help other artists to do the same in the future.
