Bruising brought us the beautiful & righteous rocker “Rest In Peace Kurt Donald Cobain (1967-1994)” that will leave you fist pumping & slowly headbanging in tears. Featured as the b-side of their upcoming single I Don’t Mind’ available December 2 from Beech Coma, the Berlin by Leeds group continue to prove to us why they are one of the world’s most important DIY pop architects dedicated to an effortless/tireless pursuit of sonic perfection.

Playing Nottingham’s Fan Club at Rough Trade December 3 with dates running through their Shacklewell Arms gig in London December 12; Naomi Baguley, Ben Lewis & company continue to expound upon the canons of your alternative favorites. With their tribute ode to the late great Kurt Cobain, Bruising brings the world one of their earliest songs that sends up a toast to the great grunge-lord with a loud-quiet-loud symphony that sounds like it never left the comforts of the mid/early 90s. The group provided us with the following introduction to their brilliant near perfection anthem to the beloved northwest icon:

This was one of the first songs we ever wrote together when we started the band…Honey and two others, this was one of them, and has been one of our favorite songs in the set since. The name of the track was a bit of an in joke that got out of hand, firmly tongue in cheek; Being aware the song sounded like it might be ripping off a whole bunch of other songs we just started calling it various plays on Rip Off, Ripped, RIP… The initial demo had the guitar running through a small clone pedal that made it sound like Nirvana, so the whole thing just snowballed into “Rest In Peace Kurt Donald Cobain (1967 – 1994)”.
