Hunx & His Punx' new album, tour

Post Author:

Rumors are ALWAYS true: Hunx & His Punx are releasing their first album on Hardly Art, Too Young to Be In Love, on March 29, in the midst of a massive spring tour of North America, including appearances at SXSW.

Hunx's follow up to 2009's Gay Singles was recorded in New York and features a revamped backing band of Punkettes (including Shannon Shaw of Clams fame), all of whom sing backup vocals. We're told that the album's songs will move from the previous subject matter of “cruising and boyfriend stealing” (aww) to “love and heartbreak” (AWW).

Given that Too Young's first single, “Lover's Lane,” appropriately sounds like the Marvelettes doing lines with T. Rex, this album should do much to advance Hunx's reputation for making deliciously coarse yet moving pop gems.
