Lollapalooza, the yearly Chicago festival initially under the helm of Perry Farrell, that guy from Jane's Addiction, and that is apparently very different from Bonnarroo, had its lineup leaked last week by Windy City EDM, a blog that covers “DJ promotion,” and now, according to several Chicago bloggers and journalists, the lineup has been confirmed as the real deal. Chicago Tribune writer Greg Kot has also confirmed that this is the official lineup. According to Chicagoist, this would be the second year in a row that the lineup has been leaked right before it was officially released by Lollapalooza's promotions unit.
Who can you expect to see if you're attending the fest at Grant Park from August 2-4? Let's give you the highlights:
The Cure (old guys)
Mumford & Sons (actually British)
The Killers (mormons)
Nine Inch Nails (they wrote the soundtrack to 300)
Phoenix (French)
Vampire Weekend (rich)
The National (sad dads)
Alt-J (∆)
Kendrick Lamar (this poor bastard gets put on every festival, laughs all the way to the bank)
Cat Power (sad)
The Postal Service (remember high school?)
Queens of the Stone Age (we don't hate this)
The Lumineers (who?)
