Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire has been the talk of the town all summer. One low budget video of a song written over a Necro beat catapulted him into the limelight, high enough in the ranks to receive endorsements from Mishka and Complex. Mr. MFN eXquire claimed Lost In Translation was written during a rough patch in the past three years as a form of therapy. Makes sense, as opening track “Triple F” has eXquire spazzing out with a Tourette's-ish “fuck'emfuck'emfuck'em” chorus.
The record largely pulls from the instrumental discography of El-P, even digging up beats from his Little Johnny From The Hospital days with Company Flow. The good news is, when you download the LIT mixtape there is a remix with a verse from El-P that would suggest he's cool with all the borrowed beats and perhaps might be lending his expertese to eXquire's career. The remix also features Danny Brown, Despot and Das Racist, which means eXquire is quickly joining the company of our favorite rappers.
