After a three-year hiatus of complete radio silence, Apache Jackson‘s back with the announcement of Auto Recall, their debut album, which is set to drop August 21 via AMDISCS: Futures Reserve Label.
For teasing purposes, they’ve also streamed the mysterious first single “Streets of Trash”, a grimy, tumid drive down a neon-lit, high-modern PCH. Choppy horns, seedy sax lines and distorted vocoder effects lend the song an overall feeling of a dystopian underbelly, in the best possible way, of course. Filled with distracted fuzz and glitch, it’s like an updated, new age take on film noir. And with a hint of sleaze and whole lot of schmooze, you might as well be the protagonist in a Pynchon novel.
