Approved Theft: Prussia EP

Post Author:

Detroit's Prussia follows up its largely overlooked debut with another fantastic reason for people to stop sleeping on the Mitten.

I first heard Prussia on a cold Wednesday night in a hip remodeled warehouse loft in Detroit's downtown slaughterhouse district, aka Scrummage University. The disjointed musings over dual timpani seemed limited in expression that night, but Prussia on record is a far cry from limitation. The largely ignored debut Dear Emily, Best Wishes, Molly (even by us) fell by the wayside of Best Of 2008 lists, but was a strong offering nonetheless.

Take the poor boy doo wop of “Supreme Being” for example:

Thus far, 2009 is a year of giving and cold blistering winters in Michigan are not stopping Prussia from catching that spirit. Courtesy of Common Cloud Records, Prussia is handing over its Blessed Be, Yours Truly In Spirit & Soul for free.
