Leeds-based electronic artist Bambooman is following up his debut Accidental Jnr EP with Shudder, a more experimental electronic work.
His eighth project overall, the 4-song EP is a collection of dancefloor riffs with a sparse, notably downtempo twist. From the opening title track, Bambooman focused on developing svelte, groovy synth loops and throwing a range of punchy drums and effects under them.
On “Grasp,” Bambooman meshes an off-kilter synth groove with party-starting house drums and filtered vocals. “M1” is a project standout, with a lively, triumphant synth leading into crisp drums and a thick, wonky bass line.” Bambooman once again succeeds at creating a sonically ambitious project that’s ripe for the dancefloor.
