Calvin Love, Highway Transmission Mixtape

Michael Giordano

Calvin Love’s Facebook reads “MUSICAL INSPIRATION COMES FROM TRAVEL/ART/DREAMS/1960s/76- 77/POP/DANCE/80's/outerspace//weirdness.” If you’re having trouble imagining what the heck that might sound like, Calvin Love wants to invite you to find out yourself with his Highway Transmission Mixtape, split between his set last October at Shea Stadium and 9 unreleased songs from 2007-2014. Calvin Love covers a lot of ground with this mixtape but at the core of it is what his music is all about: experimentation and integrity.
