The artist formerly known as Tulsa, Carter Tanton is set to release his newest album, Freeclouds. The first under his Government name, Tanton might currently be best known as the new guy in Lower Dens, but he's earned his chops as an established songwriter for folks like Marissa Nadler, who also appears on Freeclouds, as well as recording credits for albums by Twin Shadow's George Lewis Jr. and Drug Rug.
Freeclouds will be released on November 15 via Western Vinyl, and by the sounds of the first single, we can expect some whimsical ditties that straddle indie-rock, country and folk. Now we see why NPR is singing his praises.
