Kooley High rapper Charlie Smarts addresses his rap blues on “Torture”. The organs do most of the wailing, while Smarts' flow flips silly axioms into frustrated weight to get off one's chest. He is fed up with the materialism, while struggling with his own status as he raps “so you got a new car dog / whoopty whoop / I'm leaning low in my hoopty coup / but my mind's in the sky doing loopty loops.”
Produced by Marshall Law, the rap gospel blues of “Torture” is the first single from Smarts' upcoming LowBottomMe project, which also features production from Black Jeruz.
LowBottomMe is out July 7.
