Dan Deacon remixes Peals' “Blue Elvis”

Any time notable Balitmore musicians get together to collaborate, you should see how fast our ears perk up. When Double Dagger dismantled, a loss we're still reeling from, there was hope in the eventual reunion of the musicians in alternate projects like Roomrunner and Peals. Peals have a debut LP, Walking Field, coming out on Thrill Jockey on May 14, but until then we've had to deal with only the few tracks and remixes that are coming in. The release of a Dan Deacon remix of the Peals track “Blue Elvis” is a surefire way to get us salivating. The track as it stands alone is an introspective, mild-tempered experimental jam that would surely translate beautifully in a live performance to a small, warm crowd. The Dan Deacon remix takes the Peals softness and adds a temperamental, pulsating backbeat to it that swirls into the synthy digisphere.

Peals have their album release show in Balitmore on May 14 at Sound Garden, where you'll surely be shouting for them to give you Balti-more. Check out the rest of their tour dates below the remix.
