Producers are not supposed to make a-million-samples-strong records anymore, but against all road blocks the RIAA is manning, EB7#9 slipped through undetected with his debut Dropped Science intact. With stylistic similarities to the era that held Kid Koala, Prince Paul, Dan The Automator, and Cut Chemist in high regard, Dropped Science is the sort of record the industry loves to suffocate in red tape. All our heroes were forced into orchestration, which makes EB7#9's debut a treasure that we must keep watch over.
We're not worried EB7#9's apartment in upstate New York will have it's door kicked in by RIAA police who will not hesitate to shoot his dog if he doesn't lie face down and spread his buttcheeks. Dropped Science is not the meth lab RV to instrumental hip hop's medical dispensaries of a distant era. It's just a damn good listening experience that will have you wondering if the watchful eye no longer has sample-based music in the crosshairs awaiting confirmation on a shoot to kill order.
EB7#9's Dropped Science is available for $7 at his Bandcamp.
