Evidence continues to pursue his solo career outside of Dilated Peoples with Cats & Dogs, his second solo LP on Rhymesayers Entertainment. The label's radio station recently premiered “Late For The Sky” which features guest verses from Slug and Aesop Rock. The track nestles comfortably into the soulfully classic Rhymesayers sound. Slug does his grown man/every man thing, Evidence toys with time wordplay and Aesop Rock continues his hot streak established on the Hail Mary Mallon record with the opening line, “from a chicken wire frame in a house of wax / to a rocket exploding into a cloud of bats.” I would pay to see that.
Cats & Dogs features guest appearances by Raekwon, Aloe Blacc, Rass Kass, Krondon and Prodigy. The record is out September 27.
