Go Dark: Oakland’s shrowded duo (possibly super duo?)

Post Author:

Go Dark, want to give you free music. But they don’t want to make things easy for you. Oakland’s latest mysterious electronic duo, are intent on making things enigmatic, because normal releases are boring.

This Halloween, Go Dark will be releasing their first EP, Bitchsword (great title) for free. The only catch is, in order to get your hands on it you have to play their self-made video game of the same title. The game will be featured on bitchsword.com, where the music and art change each time you play, so no two game-plays are ever the same. Right now the website proudly displays Bitchsword in an NES style type font (very similar to Crystals), a countdown till Halloween and links to their social media which are also chock full of strange 8-bit style art.

The countdown on their website says the game and therefore the EP are a whopping 49 days away. In the mean time, you can enjoy this video for their first single “Howl,” a dark synth pop track accompanied by ambiguously dark clips of the masked members of Go Dark doing dark things in the dark.

This November, Go Dark are hitting the road with Deerhoof and will probably sill be wearing their masks.
