Harmonica Lewinski, “The Slug”

Rochester’s self-proclaimed “trash kings” Harmonica Lewinski–yes, you read that name right and yes, you’re allowed to giggle and never forget them–are getting ready to debut their latest full-length album, aptly titled Head Honcho. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of “The Slug”, the greatest single on our radar at the moment.

The track, like many of their others, sounds almost like something out of a spy movie set in the 1970s–think one of the 007 originals or even Austin Powers–and for that reason alone, we are willing to play it over and over again. Add in the fact that they’re ready to party with unamused–yet encapsulating megaphone-inspired vocals–Harmonia Lewinski does their sound phenomenal justice with “The Slug”.

About the album:
In a tight 28 minutes, Head Honcho spans the dial from weirdo surf to greasy garage to dirty disco to party punk. Recorded in Rochester NY by analog wizard Alex Patrick on ½ inch reel to reel. This full length tape from Harmonica Lewinski twists and turns its way through 12 cuts of swampy rock n roll, with booty shaker instros mixed in. Turn it over and start again.

Head Honcho is out July 22nd. Check out their pre-release party at Lux Bar in Rochester on July 8th.
