Reading this made me think back to my teenage years as a lil' punker, and how I always tried to defend their one hit “Flagpole Sitta” as not so distant to Weezer or to Green Day's summation of high school angst in the vapid 90s. In truth, I never heard another Harvey Danger song in my life, and maybe that's alright, but “Flagpole Sitta” has this weird place in my heart as a sweet slice of twisted pop that one day will come on the classic rock station and transport me to that uncomfortable time and place.
