L.A. psych marauders drop spellbinding single off upcoming fourth LP
Los Angeles’ Here Lies Man have been cranking out excellent, heavy Afrobeat-tinged psych rock over the last few years, with their most recent album being 2019’s No Ground To Walk Upon. Later this month they’ll drop their fourth LP Ritual Divination, and now they’re sharing its groovy and spellbinding latest single, “Collector of Vanities.”
Amidst fuzzed-out riffage and catchy melodies, the track explores a vast range of stylistic energies, from hypnotizing Sabbath-y metal/doom carnage, classic rock storyteller vibes, and vintage Afrobeat quirks. It’s another addictive and boundary-pushing effort from the L.A. psych marauders that builds, peaks and plunges in rollercoaster-like ways.
