Danny Brown lends a verse to a Charli XCX song

Charli XCX's debut album releases tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we can't take a look at some last-minute updates. The twenty-year-old electrodance singer has premiered a track called “What I Like” from her album True Romance that has a few mediocre lines added by Detroit rapper Danny Brown. As Brown has a penchant for hanging out with fairly young women in music, the collaboration isn't a surprising one, but it is unfortunate to see the only thing gluing the two together is the inherent click-worthiness of their potential. Brown's verse is bland and boring, but the popiness of the Charli XCX song doesn't do well enough as a standalone. The result is the same as eating a chocolate-covered pretzel. It's sweet, it's salty, and then it's gone.
