It’s been an impressive rise for London songwriter Edith.
Since launching her music career with ‘Don’t Wanna Think’ – The youthful songwriter has been steadily growing her audience in the UK and the U.S. Creating music was the only path from a young age, with Edith joining any musical assembly available at her school, while also learning guitar and piano. Her mother, who was also in a band, was a massive influence on her musical journey.
She’s building towards her EP with the stunning, contemporary pop single ‘Afterparty’. The track builds to an emphatic crescendo, while the chorus makes use of smooth electronic drum sounds. On the new single Edith states
“The song afterparty was written in less than 15 minutes. It was one of the easiest songs to write, however I feel like it’s one of the strongest. The song is really about looking back on the mistakes I did and the things I should have known, but I didn’t at the time. Going back and forth, being in a relationship that wasn’t right for me. When I wrote the song, I just thought of how much I have learnt over the last few years, I guess we always learn, but we have to make the mistakes in order to learn from them.”
