Captured Tracks claims the new Ganglians 7″ contains two of the band's best songs to date. We are not going to dispute.
A driving bassline is usually the buried instrument in the fuzz and filter of a freak-defied Ganglians song, but on “Blood on the Sand” it carries the weight. Recorded with Jarvis Taveniere from Woods, the 7″ accents a band yet to pigeonhole itself. Think Ganglians are just Beach Boys wrapped in shoddy effects, hiding in some lo-fi shelter? We suggest checking out the b-side “Make It Up” on the band's Myspace page. Be sure to hang around for the full four and a half minutes or you'll miss the gear switch into heart-attack mode.
