In case you were confused while reading song credits, Chicago based producer oddCouple is one person – a very talented one. The beatsmith has worked with a bevy of rising names, such as Mick Jenkins, Jamila Woods and Kweku Collins. Yesterday, he decided to drop something from his own electronic-hip-hop-fusing exploits, the soothing “See The Sun.”
The title may or may not be a subtle suggestion that the track is optimally experienced while taking in the sun rays on a beautiful day, but I’m taking it that way after hearing the manner in which the the lush sounds soar through the speaker. It’s a strong visage for the Spring and coming summer, with rousing organs and what sounds like vocal chops mixed under the top layer of goodness.
oddCouple will be out in the sun playing this track and others this summer. You can see his current dates below, as well as stream “See The Sun.” He also says he’ll “reply to all feedback” via Soundcloud comments.
