“Big Scheme” from Office Culture’s upcoming album I Did the Best I Could, brings a Hall & Oates, Sara Smile type vibe to your playlist. Although their sound has sometimes been labeled as “sophisti-pop”, Office Culture, based in Brooklyn and comprised of Winston Cook-Wilson, Jack McNutt, Charlie Kaplan, Ian Wayne, and Patrick Kelly, has captured a velvety melody and layered lyrics in one song. If you close you eyes when you hear “Big Scheme”, you feel like you are in another era of music with a hi fi playing the vinyl version.
I should have been drinking a glass of red wine while listening to “Big Scheme”.
I Did the Best I Could, produced by Tim Race and Winston, debuts this spring. Keep up with the band here.
