Premium Destiny is a new duo comprised of L.A.-based musicians Annie Lipetz (Smiling, Dooms Virginia) and Josh Menashe (Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Dopplerkind). Today they’ve shared the project’s debut single “High on Forever,” and it’s a lush, dreamy sonic treat.

“High on Forever” opens on a swelling sample of static before fading into a series of acoustic riffs paired with Lipetz’s soothingly hypnotic vocals. Atmospheric slide guitar twangs and softly twinkling synths soon enter the fray as Lipetz’s voice harmonizes alongside Menashe’s delicate backing vocals. It’s a gorgeous folk-inflected indie psych ballad that radiates some nice Mazzy Star/Hope Sandoval-esque vibes, while the track’s subtle instrumental nuances reward repeat listens.

Fun fact: the lyrics were crafted using the William S. Burroughs’ cut-up technique. Also, the track’s cover art has a walkie talkie on it, because Lipetz and Menashe met while communicating via walkie talkie. Fun! Give the track a spin below:
