Paisley Montage, Purling Hiss's upcoming reissue on TestosterTunes/Richie Records, has its first single, the sludgy burnout “Gitar Damage Pt 1”. Standard issue for Mike Polizze, and heard before in a short promo video for the record, “Gitar Damage Pt 1” sounds like Purling Hiss before it birthed a monster, all deeply bassy and overlain with sharp guitar that meanders and flaps around until its waterlogged end. How appropriate, then, that the Paisley Montage reissue, all tracks from 2007-2011, was initially only available on tour in a super limited-edition cassette release. Now, with a wider release on October 29, you have your chance to pick one up out of the grungy gutter.
