San Diego indie punk duo fully unleashes on scorching new single
Earlier this year, we featured the up-and-coming San Diego indie punk duo Rain on Fridays in our Rising Artists to Watch in 2021 piece. Today, the band continues their hot streak with the release of their swift and scorching new single “Hey Man.”
“Hey Man” is noisy, snarling ripper with an infectious chorus and tight, rapid-fire guitars and drums in tow. The track starts out slowly and ominously before exploding in powder keg-like fashion. “Were you talking to me?” singer Madi Coe shouts over a throttling bass line and just about the gnarliest riffs that Rain on Fridays have churned out yet. In spite of the lack of a concert scene to test out or simply contextualize new material, here ROF manages to fully channel the spirit of their live shows with riotous, combustible aplomb. “Hey Man” takes no prisoners and will leave you smashing repeat.
