Cincinnati act unveils booming avant-pop reworking of past single

Last summer, back when we thought we might be back to shows by now, we shared “Without You,” the latest single from Cincinnati-based group Carriers. Although this Groundhogs Day-style of life has yet to ease up, at least in most parts of the country, that hasn’t stopped Carriers’ figurehead Curt Kiser from finding some joy through music.

That sentiment echoes through the release of a reworking of his single “Peace of Mine” by Thad Kopec. Timed with the March edition of Bandcamp Friday, the “Peace of Mine” remix reimagines the song through an avant pop lens as booming percussion, pitch warped keys and ethereal vocals from Molly Parden and maví lou blend for a brilliant new take.

Listen to the “Peace of Mine” remix below and be sure to visit Carriers’ Bandcamp starting at midnight for more surrounding its release.
