RUMTUM is in carpe diem mode since the release of his collaborative EP with Monster Rally on Waaga. The Ohio beat scientist spent this past weekend in Boise, ID performing with Monster Rally at the Treefort Music Festival. Prior to the festival, RUMTUM slipped two beat tapes onto his Soundcloud as way to give back to those who've done fine deeds for him, be it a positive album review or a cassette purchase.
In two 16-minute spans, RUMTUM casually unloads a plethora of style excercises. On Beat Tape Two he mutates through varying symphonies, as a tender harp beat starts in a blossoming garden and enters the Dojo for battle. Stay until the end; the final beat on Two is like a Blaxploitation jam session, fit for Curtis to come barging in with tales of children in the street growing up wrong and too fast.
MR&RT is out now on Waaga.
