Three good rules that I always try to go by:
- If a band lists their influences as “Kinks/Residents” and actually sound like that, I'm sold.
- If a band writes a song about Hells Angels founder Sonny Barger, I will probably like that band.
- If a band writes a lyric like “I don't wanna choke on smoke from a smoke machine” in a song called “Jethro Skull”, I will really like that song.
