When we last left Strange Relations, they had released their near-perfect shoegaze EP, Ghost World, and were slowly inching toward more material, for which we waited anxiously. The wait is now gloriously over, though only in a small dose, as the Minneapolis three-piece has put forward the first single from their future debut album, Centrism. The track, which we have the pleasure of premiering here, is called “Very White Teeth” and is a slicker, more polished showing from the naturally dark trio, somewhere in between early Denali and Metric, with a breakdown that crushes in its magnitude and leftover minor pulses. If this is the direction that Strange Relations is heading in, Centrism is sure to have a terrifying impact.
You can stream “Very White Teeth” below and look to the band in 2015 for the release of the full-length. In the meantime, catch Strange Relations on tour at the dates listed.
