What happens when five South American punksters residing in Stockholm get together to make some tunes? You get a band named after a made up Middle Eastern country. Just as geographically jumbled as their biography, Sudakistan’s music also draws from all over the globe for influence. In their newest single, “Concrete Djungle”, out this week on PNKSLM, we get a progressive punk track that is as intelligent as it is high-energy. Percussive polyrhythms, fat distorted guitar, chanted “whoo”s and the talk-sing style of the Talking Heads combine for a hammering three minutes.
The band is set to starting recording their debut LP this fall, due out in 2014.
