TARNS, You Need More Smile

New Jersey experimental group TARNS are about as elusive as the oddity that is their new four-track album, You Need More Smile. Each track serves up a distinct type of otherworldliness, with nods to free jazz, psychedelia, and noisecore, what you might expect from a glimpse inside the mind of a snake-charmer dropping acid at an illegal circus. A familiar and gentle electric guitar emcees the journey; well worth sticking it out until the end. This is no throw-spaghetti-at-a-wall type of experiment, but one of deliberate arrangement and musicianship. On top of that, their screen-printed album art more than complements the intrigue.

You can purchase the album from them via Bandcamp, or stream it below.
