London DJ/producer Throwing Shade has just shared a second track, “Pure Life”, off her upcoming 19 Jewels EP, more in step with her name than lead track “Sweet Tooth,” which is anything but shady. The new track wades in what might also be considered James Ferraro's dark R&B waters, but incorporates sounds from a more world music-oriented palette. Like having a fever dream to the organ sounds of a gothic cathedral, “Pure Life” creates an immersive listening experience. A chant of “pure life” echoes in various voices across the mix, as if the work of evil sprits.
No Pain In Pop will release the EP on May 19, with pre-orders going on now. Stream “Pure Life” below.
