Lee Noble's No Kings label is a consistent source of interesting and eclectic music (just as challenging as a Lee Noble release might be), and in the case of a recent split between Trabajo and Madrugapha, the good stuff keeps on coming. The two bands—one a Ridgewood duo and another a farflung group of Argentinians—mesh perfectly on their split cassette, making vibrant and collage-like sounds that feel as warm as the tropics and purifyingly psychedelic. The artwork for the release, which can be seen above, is inspired by “bejeweled saints buried in the catacombs of Europe” and is gorgeously done. You can stream a preview of the tape below, and head to No Kings to pick up a copy at your leisure.
