Grammy-nominated producer ZHU announced his upcoming album, GENERATIONWHY, with a new single today, aptly titled “GENERATIONWHY”. Although its just been released to the public, he debuted the song at this year’s Coachella Music Festival during his closing set. It was like music festival crack. Fans were impressed, and now we all get to enjoy the genius of his newest work.
A clear, upbeat dance track–something ZHU is known for at this point–“GENERATIONWHY” is something you can vibe to, as well as whistle while you’re driving, working, and cleaning. (We know you heard that whistle track over the song.) There are so many layers to this song–an oldies feel to some of it, although it definitely reminds us of Pharrell’s “Happy” that won over so many hearts in 2014–that it’s impossible to not love some aspect of it.
ZHU is set to perform at various U.S. music festivals this summer including Lollapalooza in Chicago, Bumbershoot in Seattle, and Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas.
