Time to whip out the old Trapper Keeper and pencil in another event to your jampacked CMJ weekend. This Saturday, Pat Noecker (aka RAFT and formerly of Liars and These Are Powers) is helming the eleventh edition of his ASSEMBLE series. For the latest in the drone project, Noecker and a group of musicians are performing his ensemble piece, “Transmissions, Long Tones in A and E.” Ten accompanying musicians—including Greg Fox (Guardian Alien, Zs), Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Pat Spadine (Ash Can Orchestra), and JG Thirlwell (Foetus)—will spread themselves through the Ace Hotel lobby, working to sustain notes in A and E. The event promises to be an immersive one, with guests encouraged to wander around the space, each experiencing a unique aural experience. Visuals will be provided by Matthew Caron.

Assemble X1: Transmissions in A and E will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 at the Ace Hotel. Admission is free and open to the public. Below you can watch a video of Assemble X from earlier this year.
