Baba Vanga, a Prague-based label that aims to feature Eastern European music that largely flies under the radar, is scheduled to release ABECD, a caterwauling concept album from Romanian electronic duo Somnoroase Păsărele. The album is based on both colors and letters and with a highlighted set of samples below, you can hear what the full record has in store. As Gili Mocanu of the duo puts it, “ABECD is the title of the album, is constructed by 5 colours, each of them is also a letter. The songs are short and simple, the colored squares game resemble to the structure of the music.” The short sampler reveals an ecclectic, conceptual output that feels disconnected from reality while also proving through pulses and beeps that it is inherently tethered to a marking point below the ground.
