Today, Dead Oceans released two Eric Copeland remixes of dance-punk duo Dub Thompson’s tracks. The songs “Dograces” and “Invoice”appeared on the band’s most recent album, 9 Songs. Whereas the original tracks combine punk aesthetic and Nine Inch Nails-esque synth, Eric Copeland’s remixes warp and deconstruct the original tracks to repetitious sketches of songs. For fans of either Black Dice or Dub Thompson, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Dub Thompson also set out for a tour of North America with post-punk outfit Ought (whose More Than Any Other Day LP was named our album of the month back in May). The tour kicked off last night in Durham, NC, and there’s certainly no shortage of chances to catch both bands on this outing.
Stream “Dograces” and “Invoice” below, and check out the tour dates beneath the embeds.
