Even if the idea of “headbanging” has only entered your mind as an abstract concept, something in that gray blob is going to fire and you’ll find yourself headbanging your way through Floor’s oil spill of a new track (via the A.V. Club). Released as the fourth single off their upcoming reunion album Oblation, “Trick Scene” is a mountain of sludge, down-tuned guitars, and some of the heaviest riffs imaginable.
The sound of the single follows the aesthetic of the group’s 2002 eponymous LP and Steve Brook’s other band Torche’s earlier tracks. Fans of Torche, Floor, or stoner metal of any denomination will undoubtedly find something to love about the four singles from the new LP released thus far.
Season of Mist is set to release Oblation on April 29, and Floor will embark on a tour of North America in support of the album.
