Lower Dens is down a guitarist

Lower Dens Guitarist Wil Adams Leaves the Band

Baltimore nu-gaze extraordinaires Lower Dens announced the sad departure of guitarist, and sometimes drummer, Will Adams yesterday. Citing exhaustion, the Jana Hunter-led foursome is now a trio for the time being while they begin their search for a replacement. As a result, they've had to cancel a string of upcoming dates, including shows with Low and Air Waves, but Lower Dens is committed to hitting the road again in June. In their words: Will's gonna be sorely missed, and we're not sure yet exactly what that will mean for the future of our band, but there will be one.

You can see the full list of cancelled and remaining dates on the Lower Dens website.

In happier Lower Dens news, the band just released a Record Store Day 7-inch on Sub Pop records. The two-song single featuring the tracks “Deer Knives” b/w “Tangiers” was limited to 1000 copies and is already out of stock. Yay for Record Stores, boo for you (unless you got one). Hopefully we'll get to hear “Tangiers” sometime soon, but in the meantime, here is the A-side to keep you warm.
