METZ tackle oft-covered Urinals track before hitting the West Coast

Post Author:

Toronto trio METZ just released a cover of one of their favorite songs, “I’m a Bug” by the Urinals, a late 70s punk band from Southern California. They aren’t the first to cover this track; Halo of Flies, Lili Z., Meatmen, Ceremony and Sex Cult have all taken stabs at the just-over-one-minute wheezing guitar screamer. METZ are also working on a sophomore album release, following up 2012’s debut self-titled. Next month, they’ll be hitting the road with Cloud Nothings, playing a handful of West Coast shows before a European stopover in August.
