Not content to merely release their new album Everything In Between on September 28, No Age has put out two versions of the album's first single “Glitter,” on 7″ and 12″ formats, with both featuring non-album b-side goodies.
“Glitter” has a jaunty drumbeat that's ripped straight from Toni Basil's “Mickey” (yes, that “Mickey”) and over warm, feedback-laden riffs Dean Spunt's refrain of “I want you back underneath my skin” sounds sneakily optimistic.
That sort of sonic buoyancy bleeds into the b-side apropriately named “Inflorescence,” a more straightforward, sonic march that No Age has consistently and expertly wielded; it's tough to imagine a duo sounding richer than this. (I guess that's why they play as a trio live, now?)
